Back to School Supply List
for 2011-2012 School Year
Please have these supplies with you on the first day of school:

* a few blue and/or black pens

*two small, non-motorized pencil sharpeners (they break easily)

* a yellow highlighter

* a 1 ½ inch binder (with clear pockets on both the outside front and back as well as the inside front and back—4 pockets in all) [It's very important to Mrs. Parker that you purchase this exact type of binder].

* a zippered, three hole punched pencil pouch

* one, plastic or sturdy (hole punched if possible) folder

*OPTIONAL-box of colored pencils, ruler, calculator

* a smock or old t-shirt for art class

** We will provide pencils, lined paper and all other folders, among other things.

Also, please bring:

* a healthy snack, a “just right” independent reading book AND either a bag lunch or lunch money  (for each day of school)

* a favorite picture book you have read many times (one from when you were little, one a parent read to you, OR one you’ve read recently)

* a smile and positive attitude J

Some important notes:

** Please label as many items as possible with your name.

** A Gainfield homework planner will be distributed the first week of school.

** Please DO NOT purchase tabs for the binder.  We will be using folders that I will distribute to the class.  I will guide students through the process of organizing their binders.

** During the course of the school year, some items may need to be replenished.
